2022 First Nations Law Awards

On August 31, Wajarri - Yamatji man Rhys Spahn was named First Nations Junior Law Student of the Year at the 2022 Ngalaya Ball.

Rhys is a Wajarri/Yamatji man and first year Juris Doctor student passionate about First Nations justice.

Rhys is studying law because he sees the impact of "adverse bail decisions, poor legal legal outcomes, hyper-incarceration" on First Nations people in the criminal law system.

Rhys was humbled and thrilled to receive this award.
