The Ngalaya
$5,000 awarded to a passionate and committed Indigenous law student.
The Ngalaya First Nations Law Scholarship is available to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander law students studying in NSW and the ACT.
Available once per year, the scholarship was established in 2021 by Ngalaya, and funded by Colin Biggers & Paisley 2022-2024.
Applications for the 2025 Scholarship will open in early 2025.

Scholarship benefits

Eligibility
Applicants must be:

Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander; and
-
enrolled in a Bachelor of Laws or Juris Doctor at a tertiary institution in NSW or the ACT.
Assessment criteria
Applicants will be assessed based on their:

demonstrated commitment to First Nations justice;
-
demonstrated involvement in community-focused work;
-
potential to advance First Nations' interests throughout their legal career; and
-
financial need.
